Metamorphosis

It all starts with the fire. Glassblowing is an old Czech tradition and is always done in teams. There are various stations, tools, and steps. The epicentre of it all is the melting furnace. The glass is worked, in constant spinning motion, transforming, glowing, changing shape, shifting from powder to liquid, from viscous to solid. It almost seems as if it has a life of its own. Accompanied by shimmering waves, sparks, and cooling steam, the glass undergoes a metamorphosis until it reaches its final cold, reflective, solid beauty.
